Readyfor recently had one of our dogs “Gordie” returned this winter. He was brought back to me as the previous owners did not have the experience or homelife to work with his energy level and decided to return him to us before he exhibited bad behaviours due to frustration and pent up energy.

He is 2 years old, neutered, tattooed, microchipped, complete bloodwork panel and OFA Hip and Elbow, is fully insured, crate trained, and has been introduced to lots of dogs and farm animals, has met lots of visitors and loves to play with kids. He doesn’t bother with our indoor cat or our parrot. He gets along with the female dogs but needs to be introduced carefully to new dogs, possibly males as they may not mix well. He happily engages and plays with the other dogs and generally respects boundaries. Gordie thrives with routine and consistency and is wicked smart!

I prefer to place him in an adult only home, no pocket pets or birds, and with someone with dog experience. The home has to have tons of outdoor space for him to run – he has so much energy and prefers to be outside running and playing most of the day! The potential new home needs to want to work with this intense and driven boy to channel his enthusiastic energy. He’d make an excellent hunting partner or competitive agility dog. He needs to be more than a weekend warrior. He’s the real deal intense highly driven working retriever!

I am not in any rush to place him but will be looking for an appropriate home that will match Gordie’s enthusiastic personality and extreme energy level.

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in learning more about this fun boy.
